Academic and Professional Background

Years of Experience

My career began teaching special needs students in a small private school in New York City.  I have been fortunate to educate general education students, students with all types of disabilities, as well as English Learners from Pre-K to grade 12. I have held positions as resource and classroom instructor, district consultant, curriculum coordinator, administrator, education specialist, project and program manager, professional developer, adjunct professor and applied anthropologist.

As an Education Specialist with Pearson Learning for 14 years, I served as a SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) trainer. In that capacity, I trained, coached and consulted with close to 30,000 teachers across the world in sheltered instruction, ELL strategies and classroom best practices.

I believe that teaching is a life long endeavor and that as teachers we need to dedicate ourselves to going from good to great and great to stellar. It is my goal to be a part of that process and to support teachers in any way that I can towards this mission.
